Column's Up
October 4, 2004
Bill Cosby, Purveyor of Truth.
Next week, I've been tasked to columnize (I think that's a made up word) election coverage. Can't you see my excitement?
Oh, and please don't email me to tell me that it's missing my "about line and contact info" (again). They know, and it should be up shortly.
Cameron Diaz Made Me Constipated
My brain is hurting today from political lunacy and thus I am unable to express my impacted fecal matter of the mind. Lots to say, little energy to say it. The fault is Cameron Diaz.
By now, I'm sure many of you saw or read about Diaz's vapid babbling on Oprah. Diaz's analysis of women's rights and abortion can be summed up in one sentence: Not voting for a candidate could potentially legalize rape. My brain hurts from this utter stupidity.
Diaz then proceeded to have an emotional breakdown at the thought of voter apathy,
"Apathy did not create this country but it's going to destroy it," she said. "I'm really scared. We're really alone, where we used to be the strongest in the world, we're alone."
Yes Cameron, you are alone. Sorry, not buying it. Tears? Voter apathy? Legalized rape? Sounds like a crack case to me. It is safe to say that Cameron can join Whitney "I wanna see the receipts" Houston, Stacie J. of "The Apprentice" and the rest of the
female *crackheads on the long road to recovery.
In other news, here in Washington, Mount St. Helens is erupting. Big whop. Sensationalism rears its ugly head. This is not 1980.
I'll be back tomorrow, or tonight, whichever comes first. Thanks a lot Cameron.
This is Hilarious

Frank at IMAO seems to have located copies of the notes Bush and were scribbling during the debate. I think he has inside sources.
Update (10/2): I didn't realize there was an off-color joke in one of the notes and have therefore de-linked them. Sorry folks, that didn't represent what we're all about on Nykola.com.
Obligatory Presidential Debate Commentary
There are 3,576,342 other people on the internet right now, telling people what they think of last night's "debate" so why should I be any different? Remind me not to go into journalism for this very reason. For what it's worth, here's my nykolsworth. Two words: Not impressed. For starters, what took place last night was not a "debate", it was a structured discussion. And let's all be honest here, the majority of Americans have made up their minds about who they'll be voting for come November so really this entire exercise was a battle for the undecided and the independents, many of which will probably go for Kerry after what took place last night. This is because Kerry's a really good politician who knows how to say the right buzz words. Too bad he still won't win the election. According to NBC polling which is of course always credible, approximately 80+% of those polled after the "debate" said they would not be changing their vote.
Jeff Goldstein at Protein Wisdom said it best,
My thoughts, sans metaphor: Kerry didn’t come across as condescending or egregiously blue bloodish (though we all know he is), and he was far more personable tonight than I’ve ever seen him. For Bush’s part, he seemed annoyed at times—but contrary to how some are reacting to Bush’s body language, I found his demeanor a strength. To me, it said, “I have a country to protect, and the man I’m standing next to won’t do it as well as me—though he’ll tell you what you want to hear.
Within two minutes of the "debate", Bush mixed up "Bin Laden" and "Hussein". Verbal mistakes are not uncommon to this man. Still, I'll take Bush's blunders over the crafty rhetoric of Kerry any day. That man could sell used cars to elderly people and he completely lacks the passion needed to take the reigns of this country.
AllahPundit has extensive links on debate commentary, as does La Shawn Barber and probably many others I'm too lazy to find and link.
This election is tired. Let's vote and get it over with already. I expect more from the next debate.
