Oh, no. Not "Sidity!" I have to check out his (?) column. callipygous Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday... -Tom Chapin and Donna Boucher Those are great words. Persnickety is one of my favorites. I often have co-workers look at me with great puzzlement when I use persnickety. That alone makes it a great word. By the way, I just read your column on superstardom and it's very good! Happy Birthday Ambra. You look great in the hat! Don't wear a hat wider than your shoulders or narrower than your forehead and you will be OK. Oh, and don't wear a hat with horizontal stripes. He he... I prefer fastidious, or punctillious to persnicketey. There's something about the sound of persnicketey that just irks me. ..Then again they're hyponyms and not necessarily synonyms. Masticate is..new. Happy birthday! I hope you get a yummy cake to masticate. Your technically incompetent friend is here for moral support! Spiro Agnew called his nemeses (the media) "...nattering nabobs of non-comformity...". I'm partial to (though never say, as it's judgemental): low-'count, amoral, misguided, self-centered and specious. Hey, don't forget "moonbats" BTW on your comment policy page "lude" should be spelled "lewd".Great website, keep it going.
