Contrary to Popular Belief, This Site Hasn't Gone to Collections

Although I am currently unemployed, I, do pay my blog bills. The site was down Wednesday due to excessive (and I mean excessive) comment spam (when it rains it pours). Everything should be straightened out by now, but this is just getting ridiculous. I'm off to seek techie aid in the interim.

Update 1/20: For those of you who've emailed me about donating, I'll swallow my pride and get a paypal link up sometime today. (Updates this afternoon)

*hugs* I felt so helpless yesterday when I saw your site down and there was nothing I could do.

Perhaps talk to LaShawn Barber and see what she is doing with her site? She seems to have a new system that seems to me might combat the spam. I wish we could cut it off at the source. However, at the very least, Maybe you could shut down comments to old posts and minimize the work you have to do with it.

Yep Sarah, that's exactly what I'm doing ;-)

Since getting your link via soundpolitics I've really enjoyed reading your views. When I saw the site's message yesterday I was a bit concerned especially since your job has gone by the way - don't feel alone - I too was let go (laid off) one week before xmas - December 17. The good news is my financial situation doesn't require I find another job - stay at home dad.

I'm going to be encouraging my daughter to check out your site - she's a college freshman at ASU.

FYI - I just contributed to soundpolitics' tip jar today.

so glad you're back ok. I was really worried someone had hacked in and messed up your site. Comments are interesting etc, but I come to read what you have to say, and I think most people would feel the same way. So if comments get impossible, please drop them before you give up on the blog.
