It's official. I'm done acting like a non-writing sap. This week's been tough mentally; too much change at one time. Besides, not writing has been really bad for my complexion and there's nothing like a pimple to motivate you to get your rear-end on the computer. I was preoccupied with other important things like paying the bills and acting like a ninny, and then I wake up this morning to this. Oh and then there's this. Life is such an incredible training ground and I'm really feeling accountable to doing what it is I love to do: communicate.

A few of you have emailed me requesting an update so here goes: there isn't one yet.

Thank you to all who've commented or sent me emails or leads over the last week. I've said it once, I'll say it again, I have a fabulous group of people reading this website. I truly mean that. Even the commenters that have copped a spot on my everlasting nerve and manage to oppose my every word sent me encouragement. And to them I temporarily apologize for the mean thoughts I've entertained about them and their future children. I say "temporarily" apologize because I know it won't be long before I'm ready to hurl my computer at their foreheads once again

But I'm not a violent person. I'll continue to chant that as my mantra.

I'm officially finished with this "I don't feel like writing" stint I tried to pull on myself. When this whole shebang first went down, the first mandate I received from an unnamed source was "whatever you do, don't stop blogging". Needless to say, I've been disobedient to that suggestion. The thing that really gets me is how many cheap shots at the NAACP I've missed over these past weeks. Bummer.

The blogosphere rocks and I'm sorry I've been away so long. Thanks everyone for the support. If I could do this and get paid, life would be grand.

I know you may not totally realize it all the time, but a bunch of us out here really love your blog, and we "need" to read it. I agree with Michelle Malkin: it's one of the freshest blogs, and in my opinion THE freshest blog, out there. Life is unfair and sad and ugly, and reading your cool blog helps me deal, believe it or not.

I've had unfair work-related stuff happen to me, so you're not alone. The important thing is to not become bitter. You're really blessed that other big-time bloggers support you, in addition to all your other fans.

I was getting worried, because a "talker" like you needs to get those words out somewhere, somehow... so I was hoping you were just doing all the necessary processing IRL with good friends and family. Glad to see you've decided to come back to us now, too.

As for getting paid, do you have a philosophical aversion to BlogAds, etc? I fully understand if you have an aesthetical (sp?) aversion to them (they are just so ugly). But consider, you'd probably make at least enough to cover your hosting/bandwidth costs. Just a thought.

Unfortunately my 3 and 5 year plans haven't come into fruition (because they will take 3 to 5 years), or else I'd make sure you could get paid to do this site.

Anyway, I'm glad that you haven't stopped writing. Nykola.com is one of the very, very, very few blogs that I have bookmarked with the intention of visiting daily, and in competition with LB's blog for the only one that I comment on regularly.

OK, west coast sis, three of your requested "Wish List" books are on their way to you. You give a lot of free joy to us when you write, so why shouldn't we pay you back when we can? :)

The Christmas card was truly wonderful and made my day. You are too clever not to become a huge success!

We often disagree A, but it ain't personal like dat. Nobody wishin you that kinda ill. I agree with everyone else -- keep your chin up, eyes front and keyboard warm.

One day this will be something to chuckle over.
