Nice work A. (are you listening, "P-I")?

Ditto with Bijan. And shall we give shoutouts to LaShawn Barber for his piece about blogdome in NRO? Kinda fun to check in once in a while and watch a new generation of thinkers like Ms. A. and Mr. B. develop. Really, really fast. Long before the old libs who run the MSM catch on. Our little secret. Hee hee.

Perhaps there will be another individual to come and incite the type of dialogue and ratings Smiley was unable to produce. All the same, these are all time indicators.

Tavis increased the numbers of his targeted demographic, gained radio stations, and sported good ratings. I don't get your comment.

He will also be a Republican who earned the endorsement of the Seattle NAACP and the Urban League.

Does this mean he's liberal or does it mean he did something Republicans generally don't do? Does it also mean all the the people who said Blacks don't vote for Republicans are full of it?

Sorry that I have to ask, but could you please explain to me how Colin Powell is not a Black American Secretary of State (therefore making it possible for Dr. Rice to be the first)?

I am aware that there are people out there who have strong feelings about more recent African immigrants or their decendents using "African American" - but I cannot understand how Powell, who grew up in the Bronx, fails to qualify as a Black American. (Was there a typo, or am I ignorant of some distinction and just being culturally insensitive?)

btw, I'm sorry to see him go. I admire him a great deal think he represented us well abroad.

Condoleezza rice is the first black woman. If I didn't make it clear in the article, now you know.

Darkstar: Dino Rossi, Republican candidate won the endorsement because he's from the' hood and the Democrat was a racist. Simple as that.

As for Tavis, yes he did up the ratings, but not to the degree he'd hoped. C'mon, even you know that. He left citing LACK OF DIVERSITY IN LISTENERS.

Check that again. He left citing lack of diversity in the management of NPR and a lack of understanding how to bring different listeners to NPR.

lack of MANAGEMENT understanding how to bring different listeners to NPR.

Thanks for clearing that up. "Woman" and "Female" aren't in there anywhere (believe me, I checked before opening my yap) - but it's what I initially thought you were going for.
